The Hilbert transformation signals is used in a variety of application in signal processing and communications where the analytical signal is required. A novel design technique for approximating the Hilbert transformation by a digital circuitry has been developed, employing a weighted collocation method and realized in a MATLAB toolbox. The designed filters not only approximate the Hilbert transformation accurately, but require also significantly less multipliers than state of the art methods.
